Along with her political involvement, Dawn has a strong record of community service. She has served on the boards and committees of several key organizations, including The Longhorn Project, the Pasadena ISD Education Foundation, Sageglen HOA, the South Belt Chamber of Commerce’s Gold Star Committee, and the South Belt Community Partnership.
Dawn is deeply engaged in regional infrastructure, economic development, and environmental issues. She participated in the Friendswood Flood Committee from 2018 to 2022 and has been actively involved in the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, serving on committees focused on Energy, Maritime, Tourism, Workforce, and Golf since 2018. Her ongoing participation in major conferences such as the Gulf Coast Industry Forum and the Texas Water Symposium reflects her dedication to understanding and addressing regional infrastructure issues.
A native of Galveston, Texas, Dawn’s family has deep roots in the area dating back to the early 1900s. Her family relocated to the South Belt area in 1977, where she graduated from Pasadena ISD schools and San Jacinto College. Her children are also Pasadena ISD graduates; one remains in the area, while the other serves abroad in the U.S. military.
Professionally, Dawn has served as a valued member of State Representative Dennis Paul’s team since April 2017. Prior to that, she worked with Pasadena ISD and was also employed by Sagemont Church.
Dawn brings a wealth of experience, a passion for service, and a deep connection to her community, making her a respected leader across political, civic, and regional development spheres.
